Often, skirting boards are the forgotten part of a wall, but they’re crying out for some love. Pick a color that complements the rest of the room and repaint. You’ll be amazed at the difference it makes, and it’s so much cheaper than four entire walls.

Modern and Vintage Mix
I live in an old house in France that was part of a castle before the French Revolution. It comprises four converted barns and is a beautiful mix of old and new. There is something about mixing modern and vintage that works.
For example, I have a modern tiled floor in my office, cream-pointed stone walls, and an oak staircase made from wood that came from our property. The pictures on the walls are vibrant colors, and the furniture is contemporary in style. The whole room makes a statement.

Coffee tables are so versatile. They can be both beautiful and functional. The design doesn’t have to be outlandish; what you put on it counts. Think of it as a vignette telling a story of its own.
Vary the heights of items to create depth. Candlesticks, small sculptures, or vases can achieve this. Arranging items of different heights draws the eye and makes your display more dynamic. Add items that reflect your personality or interests, such as a unique piece of pottery or a vintage find.

Choose books with attractive covers, stack them from largest to smallest, and ensure there is balance in the arrangement. They come in many shapes and sizes, ranging from small, oval ones to large, rectangular, free-standing ones.
Mirrors command attention like nothing else in a room. Positioned correctly, they can accentuate key features within a room. For example, a mirror placed opposite an interesting piece of art or a beautiful view can double the impact of that feature, ensuring it grabs attention from multiple angles.
